Strong Schools, Strong Oregon

On February 20, 2012 thousands of us will stand together to send a message to the state and its leaders. We need you, your friends, and your family to join with us and make history!

 

What We Believe
- Strong schools support strong families, communities, and a stronger Oregon
- Funding our schools is the right thing to do for our students and Oregon’s future
- Investing in public schools is Oregon’s way out of this economic crisis.

 

What Oregon Leaders Need to Know
- Rebuild the dream for Oregon’s students.Invest in Oregon’s public schools today to improve the future of all Oregonians.

- Listen to educators, students, and parents.Before making policy decisions that affect our schools, engage the people directly involved in the lives of students every day.

- Schools are not factories.Our students have diverse backgrounds and come to school with a variety of needs and experiences. They all learn differently and their successes cannot be measured by test scores alone.

 

SKEA Check-in and After Party

We are asking that SKEA members meet at the Micah building to sign-in and walk in unity to the rally.  Please check-in by 11:45 so we can march on the capital together.  There will be sign making materials if you want to make your own sign.  Families are welcome!

 

Join us after the rally for the After Party.  There will be live music, hot drinks, and desserts available to go with the OEA provided lunch.  Please let your building representative know if you are coming to the party and how many people you are bringing.

What We Will Do Together
- Meet with legislators (make an appointment directly)
- Group rally & march noon to 1:00 pm
- Additional activities throughout the day.
